Privacy Notice
LifeSim: Choice Stories is an offline-first, single-player narrative game. The app does not require a LifeSim account and does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking services.
Local gameplay and saves
Your active run, story history, settings, and related game state are stored locally on your device first. LifeSim does not operate a gameplay server and does not upload this information to a developer-operated backend. Android uses on-device storage plus manual export and import of portable save files.
Private iCloud sync on iOS
On iOS, LifeSim can synchronize a save through Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database. The app uses a one-way account comparison value to protect account transitions; it does not expose the raw iCloud account identifier to the app interface, logs, save files, or support content. You can turn private iCloud sync off in Settings. Private iCloud data may remain after uninstall until you delete it through LifeSim or manage it through Apple’s iCloud controls.
Portable save files
When you choose to export a .lifesim-save file, iOS or Android presents its system file or share interface. LifeSim reads an imported file only after you select or open it, validates it locally, shows a bounded preview, and asks for confirmation before replacing a save. LifeSim never attaches a save file to feedback automatically.
Voluntary feedback and support
LifeSim can open an operating-system composer for voluntary feedback. You decide whether to send it and which service receives it. A separately confirmed diagnostic note can include bounded app and operating-system versions plus reproduction notes, but not a save, story history, account value, log archive, or cloud metadata. If you open a public GitHub support issue, GitHub processes the information you submit under its own terms and privacy policy. Do not post personal information or save data in a public issue.
What LifeSim does not collect automatically
LifeSim has no analytics, advertising identifiers, automatic crash reporting, remote story downloads, community-statistics uploads, or tracking. It does not sell personal information.
Platform services
Apple and Google may process store, purchase, device, diagnostic, backup, file-picker, sharing, notification, or iCloud information under their own policies. Those platform services are separate from LifeSim’s developer-operated systems.
Removing data
Use Settings → Data → Reset This Device to remove local LifeSim data. On iOS, deleting the private iCloud save is a separate confirmed action. You can also remove exported save files from the locations where you chose to store them. Uninstalling the app removes its local app container according to the operating system’s behavior but does not necessarily remove private iCloud data or exported files.
Changes to this notice
This page will be updated if LifeSim’s data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
